Tyldesley Tales

Published August 26th, 2022

We have been working with Radio M29 to produce a series of Tyldesley Tales, local stories from days gone by. Places where Tyldesley people used socialise, work and live that have long since disappeared. Local lad Vince Mather is our first contributor. He explains how moving to Princes Avenue was like "living in paradise". Stories from Astley Green Colliery as an apprentice electrician and how his wife sold thousands of M&S knickers from her new shop on Elliott Street. Look out for updates when the series goes live on Radio M29
